Meet Tiffany!

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Tell Tale Thursday | Posted on 05-06-2008

 Hello All!

My name is Tiffany I live in the country in West Alexandria,Ohio.  My children attend a very small school… K-12 is all in one building… reminds me of going to my school when I was young…I attended Dayton Christian Schools and had the blessing of graduating from there.  I treasure that… a Christian education is a unique blessing these days.  I thank my parents deeply for that.  I am the oldest of three children, I met my husband when I was 18, he attended Carroll High School…and we were married 3 years later.  I now have 4 wonderful blessings…Justin just turned 18, Cameryn Anne will be 13 on the 15th of this month, Jarred will 8 in July and my baby Cadyn will be one in July also.  Yes, Cadyn was a TOTAL surprise, but she blesses us every day!  So I am quite busy and stay at home with my kiddos… all three of the older ones are active in sports all year round… soooo I don’t get much down time at all…

My husband Tom is a semi driver,  we are lucky that he has a job hauling steel for AK Steel in Middletown, so the gas prices do not cut into his pay or the money he makes hauling.  Its a rather dangerous job but he loves it… I just totally pray all day and every day that the good Lord will bring him home each and every night… so many accidents there and some have been fatal.

In our times together, when we are all able to be together as a family we enjoy visiting our parents, my children have a close relationship with their grandparents and enjoy being with them… I think that is neat… my oldest still huggs and kisses them before we depart… not many moms can say that these days, especially of a grown son… he still kisses his daddy… I of course am so proud of that, he of course would kill me if he ever read that!  We also go to all their sporting events and sometimes my son and husband go to Pittsburgh Steeler games when possible and the Cleveland Indians when possible… don’t foresee that this year!!  Otherwise, I myself enjoy gardening and redoing a room at a time when money allows that… love anything creative really.

I think that’s enough babble about myself… other than I have not had the opportunity to meet Luanne… I found this website via Mommin It Up… do not know Jenny personally either…found that via 937Mom… I love both these blogs and I am new to the “bloggy world”  but Christ has led me to some really neat sites that help me through my days…Thank you Luanne…

Well, I totally forgot that this WFMW is a themed post that is supposed to be how to combat the “Mom, I’m bored” issue that arrives in most households during the summer months. Even though I forgot and didn’t focus on that issue, I can tell you that obviously (watch my video and the videos at www.brothersstudios.com) we don’t experience a lot of boredom around our house. Our kids are involved in our work and our play. Even when they were little, I would pull a chair up to the sink so the girls could help me wash the dishes. Sometimes I would let them play in what I was doing like setting up a sheet tent in the living room while I am folding clothes. They loved that! So, that is my suggestion….involve them as much as possible in what you are doing. They love it and they will not be bored.

Does Your Skin Have a Radiant Summer Look?

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Cosmetics, Tuesday's Tips & Trends | Posted on 03-06-2008

My big tip for today is to remind everyone again that your skin only looks as good as it really is. Make sure you are on a skin care regimen. If you love the skin care you are using and you love the price you are paying for it….great! Keep using it, use it consistently, and don’t use parts of one skin care line and other parts of another. Skin care systems are formulated to work together for the best results. If you start mixing up different brands, you will end up with chemical warfare on your face. For example, don’t use a Clinique cleanser and a Mary Kay Moisturizer and an Estee Lauder day protectant and night repair product. Use all of one brand. Trust me, it makes a huge difference. If you are not using skin care regularly then please register for my skin care class as see how easy it is to take good care of your skin. If you need skin care, purchase it here

Every item has a money back guarantee. If you have questions about skin care or specific questions about color or body care for the summer, just give me a call. Also, please let me know in the comments what you would like to learn about. We have an awesome new Subtle Tanning Lotion. I love it! I could do a video on how to get the best tan using a tanning lotion or cream. There are a few tricks to getting it right. Just let me know what you would like to learn about.  After you take the class, be sure to fill out the survey and get a free signature eye shadow. Tomorrow I will be doing advanced eye color. Don’t miss it!

Kisses!

Liquid Gold

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Manic Monday | Posted on 02-06-2008

Krisha and I have decided that we are going to put our best foot forward and try to save our butts financially from this liquid gold crisis. We spent last week walking everywhere we possibly could instead of driving. We live downtown which I know is not too attractive to everyone, but we love it. We like being close to the Art District and we enjoy being close to the Victoria Theater where Krisha dances. We also have a market downtown that is totally awesome. Fresh veggies, fresh fruit, beautiful flowers for my table, and the homemade breads and deserts are to die for. The market is a little over 5000 steps (we used a pedometer) and the Theater is a little over 2000. It has been great exercise. We even walked to CVS downtown (this is for Jenny)! We stopped and had coffee at Boston Stoker (that is for Daniel,) it was awesome! We definitely love the walkin gig. I really think it is going to make a huge difference in our budget. We also noticed that we bought less at the market than we would have if we had gone to a superstore, mainly because we had to carry every thing we purchased over 2500 steps home. I am sure we are saving more than just gas money. I have a friend that says that if you go into Wal-Mart with just your hands, you’ll spend $50. If you go in with a cart, you’ll spend $100. I am usually lucky if I spend less than $200. We spent less than $20 at the market (that included our lunch!) I think this is going to work out.

Today we drove to the Lake so Krisha could participate in the race that our Sailing Club was having. I figured out that we spent almost $20 in gas to get there and back. We drive a huge Expedition and it only gets 15 miles per gallon. Ugh!!!!

Walking is doing us a lot of good. What are you doing to save on that liquid gold?

Creepy

Today I opened my Comment Moderation page and there was a truly creepy spam comment. Are we safe anywhere? What really creeps me out is that advertisers would not take the time and spend the money on all of this spamming if it didn’t really work. How sick are we that we would respond to something gross and sexual on the spot from a complete stranger. I really feel sad for our men. They are being bombarded every day. I am so thankful for my faithful husband. I am scared for our youth. There is something to the fact that if it is not available or if it is hard to get, it is less gotten….do you know what I mean? Now a days, you can just about get whatever you want whenever you want and nobody even has to know about it. It really scares me. We have all three of our computers out in the open where everyone (including me) can be monitored during use. We also have an awesome accountability system called Covenant Eyes. We each log in to Covenant Eyes when we get on the computer. It logs our usage individually. It sends an email every month of every site we have gone to to whomever we choose. Daniel & I monitor each others and then we each get one of the girl’s report. It is easy to read because it rates sites and if there is a concern, it is posted in red at the top of the page. It just takes seconds to glance at it and know your family has been safe. Thanks for letting me rant. Check out Covenant Eyes if you don’t have a safety system in place. We are all tempted and we are all capable on falling to temptation. I love accountability. It helps me keep things in check.

Kisses!
