Stupid or Cursed?

I know that most of my readers follow Jenny at momminitup, and I know you know how she gets her awesome freaky free deals at CVS (if you don’t know, then you gotta check out her Super Saving Saturday tomorrow.) Anyway, she helps me out with my couponing (because I am mentally lacking in that area.) The best part is that ALL of my toiletries, paper products, cleaning products, OTC meds, etc, are REALLY free, because I get $30 free gift cards for my prescription transfers on new prescriptions (one or both of which I always have. I try to get at least two free gift cards a month. Yesterday I went to a different CVS than usual with my script transfer from Walmart. When I got inside I realized that I did not have my insurance card and I didn’t want to look like an idiot if they asked for it, so I drove home to get it. The previous CVS was a bit far from my house (I was stopping in because I happened to be on that side on town for other things) so I drove to a different CVS. I took my empty bottle in and told them I wanted to transfer this script. Did they ask for an insurance card? No, of coarse they didn’t. They said that it would be about 15 minutes. This always means it will be thirty, so I went to my truck and spent 30 nice, quiet, alone, minutes doing my nails. When I got back into the store, the pharmacist said the she had called Walmart and the script had already been transferred but their computer would not tell them where. I happened to have the most recent bottle in my purse which I had not originally given them because the last time I got the script, they had not given me 60, they had given me 6 and I didn’t want them to make the same mistake again. When she saw the bottle, she said “Oh, I called the wrong Walmart, it will only take me about 15 minutes…..15minutes later, she called me up to the counter to tell me that even though I had 2 refills left, my script was expired. AGGHHHH!

Stupid or Cursed?

WFMW: Easy Quiche

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Food, WFMW | Posted on 28-10-2008

WfmwbannerThis coming Saturday morning my friend Katie is having a wedding shower. I have the privilege of being one of the people making Quiche for the event. I was told I could make any two Quiches I wanted to. Sounds easy…huh? The problem is, I do want people to love my cooking and I really don’t like to be like everybody else. I have been through about a bazillion recipes. The best recipes always seem to surface on allrecipes.com. LOVE IT! The site is easy to navigate…easy to save favorite recipes and, after you save your recipes, you can print out a shopping list. LOVE IT! Anyway….the quiche recipe that ended up “working for me” is called EASY BACON AND CHEESE QUICHE:

I really started out this post to tell you what quiche recipe works for me but truth be known, what really works for me is allrecipes.com.

My Little Girl Is Getting Married

Posted by Luanne | Posted in My girls | Posted on 27-10-2008

My daughter Tosh has been engaged for several weeks. I haven’t been too thrilled about it because she has been a bit estranged from me for the past 6 months. She text me to tell me she was engaged. I went to her apartment the next day to talk to her and take her out to celebrate. My mother showed up and believe it or not, it turned in to a creepy white trash front yard yelling match. Needless to say, I left and hadn’t heard from her in weeks….until Friday.
[

I was so happy to hear from her. She told me when they were planning on getting married and that she wanted to have an out door wedding. She also asked me to help. I am so excited. I have been mourning her loss for months. Not to this guy, but to the world. It didn’t happen slowly, it didn’t happen with any warning at all. She just moved out.

I’ve spent most of my weekend looking for places to have the wedding and getting info (as much as I could on a weekend) on them. She is coming by today. Pray for me that I don’t do or say anything stupid. Pray for peace. I really want this to be a happy time for her. I just want to be there with her in the midst of it all.

So You Think You Can Dance

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Freaky Friday, My girls | Posted on 23-10-2008

My baby girl and meWednesday night Krisha (my 14yr old) and I went to the “So You Think You Can Dance 2008” tour in Columbus. We had an AWESOME time. Thanks to Jenny and Emily and momminitup, we not only had tickets in the eighth row, but we had VIP “meet-n-greet” passes. Several hours before the concert, we were able to meet with the dancers. Little did I know that it would be Krisha and I, five other adults and five young children. It was kinda awkward considering we have hardly seen the show at all. We just love dancing (Krisha is in our cities pre-professional ballet company), but our lives don’t afford much television watching. When we went to the meet-n-greet area, we were obviously supposed to be like the other crazy fans…we just didn’t know who any of them were.

Krisha kissing Snuggle       All the guys were so nice.

After the show both Krisha and I decieded that if we had know how awesome they were, we would have been a little more star struck.

The best part about the whole night wasn’t really the concert or the dancing itself. It was that Krisha and I, from 1pm-midnight got to get away with each other, no phones, no email, no texting, no tweeting, no eerends to run, no bills to pay, no homeschooling, just she and I. We laughed, we danced, we screamed and giggled. We even took our picture together every time we went to the bathroom. Thanks momminitup for giving us time to stop and smell the roses.

 Yep....we\'re in the bathroom!

If you are looking for easy Quiche, follow this link. http://whatagirlwants.brothersstudios.com/blog/?p=74  Sorry, I posted the wrong link on Rocksinmydryer.

My dh and I are trying to lose some extra poundage by doing a “JENNY CRAIG” diet on a budget. We have cereal in the am, “Lean Pockets” and salad for lunch, a “Lean Cuisine” for dinner, two fruits, and 2 snacks. When it  comes to snacks, the problem always seems to be portion. Buying the 100 calorie packs are a big help, but they are also expensive.

During this Halloween season, there are many snacks that are being sold in packs that are convenient to hand out for Halloween. They cost any where from $3.98-$4.98 and they have anywhere from 18-30, 100 calorie packs to a bag. This is a lot better than the boxes of six that cost around the same. These bags are not marked 100 calorie, but most of them are (except the Goldfish and they are only 50 calories/pack.) Keep in mind, these are seasonal so stock up! Pre-proportions works for me and cheap always works for me!

Kisses!Wfmwbanner_2
