For spititual, mental, phyisical and emotional health……laugh a little…..or alot!

Sorry for the delay in getting this up, we had technical difficulties due to weather.

(p.s. we were shooting a video for brothersstudios.com , called “It’s Not The End Of The World, But You Can See It From Here” , and Luanne had a little trouble getting started, she couldn’t stop laughing for about 5 minutes straight! So go check it out here. )

You Asked For It!

It’s a little tuff puting pictures of myself on here after posting pictures of Elle, but here ya go.

Before:

After:

hair cut

I know my hair looks red, but it actually looks a bit lighter than this. Seriously, this was after the second time it was colored. We have come to the conclusion that is just won’t get any darker than this. Anyway, it still fits the “dirty blonde” catagory. This next picture just shows the cut better in black and white.

Can you tell how thin my hair is getting? Ugh!

Have a great weekend & love on all those fathers out there.

Kisses!

Meet Jen!

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Tell Tale Thursday | Posted on 12-06-2008

Hello, I’m Jen.  I “met” Luanne through Jenny from Mommin’ It Up.  I “met” Jenny through her CVS deals which she linked at Money Saving Mom.  I have met somany wonderful people through their blogs.  My husband was sitting next to me while I was looking at some blogs, and kept asking who they were, I said “I don’t know, but they got some great deals at CVS, didn’t they?!”  He just doesn’t get it yet!!  I am relatively new to blogging.  I began the journey on March 19 of this year.

My main reason in starting to blog is so that my family and friends can keep up with our life after our big move to Australia.  Yes, Australia!  You see, my husband and I are missionaries to Australia, and we’re moving to the Outback in August!  When my husband was 6 years old, he felt the Lord calling him to be a missionary to Australia, and thus begun the journey.

But, let me back up a little…I grew up in a Christian home, my dad sacrificed a lot to

send me and my 3 brothers to a Christian school.  When I was six I made the biggest

decision you can ever make – I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior.  I am so

thankful for my school and our church.  After graduating I went off to Bible College

where I met my husband and after 2 years we were married in May of 1999.  In

November of 2002, our daughter, Autumn was born.  In 2006, I graduated with a Major

in Missions and Minor in Education.  In February of this year, our son, Cody was born.

That quickly summed up 28 years of my life!  I currently home-school Autumn, we’re hoping

to finish up Kindergarten this week.  (We will continue home-schooling in Australia.)  Some

quick things about me – I love scrapbooking, organizing, cleaning (yeah, I’m a dork!), and

spending time with my family.  God has blessed me with so much.

Please stop by my blog and let me know what you think of my new layout.  I post just about

everyday on basically everything – including all my CVS deals!  And by the way, I was deeply

saddened to find out there are no CVS’s in Australia.  Let’s all have a moment of silence…

and when you’re done – go check out my blog!!  http://bethouexalted.blogspot.com/

Called Jenny?

Posted by Luanne | Posted in WFMW | Posted on 11-06-2008

On December 9, 2006 I called Jenny…no, not my BFF Jenny, but Jenny Craig. I had come to a point of desperation with my weight. It has been so frustrating because I gained 80lbs in 4 months when I was ill. I know it was due my lack of activity (I was bedridden) and my medication (high doses of steroids.) Of coarse when I was able to walk and use my arms again, I immediately lost around 30lbs. The rest of it has been a pain in my…..well it has actually been directly on my butt for about 5 years now. Over and over again I would lose 15-20lbs and then I would have to have an increase in medication and I would balloon up again. Anyway, I got desperate. I called Jenny. I was so ashamed of my weight I wouldn’t even go to a Jenny Craig center so I signed up online and paid an extra $150/month to have the food delivered to my door. They have a consultant call once a week to talk. Several weeks into it she realized that there are 5 Jenny Craig locations within 10 minutes of my house. She insisted I go in to a center. I’m glad I did.

It took me until my birthday (which was my goal) July 29, of 2007 to get 50lbs off. I was thrilled! I will tell you that I kept it off until about 2 months ago and I gained 15lbs. I went back two weeks ago and I have already lost 7lbs. I enjoy the food, it is easy to grab and go, I don’t have to count calories, I know exactly what I have to eat for the day and I don’t have to go shopping to get anything but the fruit, milk and veggies. I love it. Next time I will go back  if I gain 5lbs. I am not doing 15lbs again.

Jenny Craig works for me.

Gotta Have it Hair!

Posted by Luanne | Posted in Check this out!, Tuesday's Tips & Trends | Posted on 10-06-2008

Well, I have gone and done it…..snip, ship. My daughter was quickly corrected when she said, “Mom, I love your bangs!” “Bangs?” I replied, “This my dear is fringe.”

Yes the #1 trend of 2008 is fringe. They are messy and piecy. They fall just below the eyebrow. They are just as welcome on short and medium length hair as they are on long.

Check it out.

Take a look at Elle’s color here. It is also a must this year to either have platinum blonde or dirty blonde, no in between. So……yep, I did that too. Having darker hair has taken some getting used to, but I like it. Krisha and I are going to see about making it a bit darker when we get some playtime downtime this week. Enjoy the hair you have. Have fun with it! Change it up now and then, you’ll be glad you did.
